Christmas morning and Yi-Yi Woes

Mommy, Leo and Shane on New Year's Eve Daddy getting Leo in his Christmas Jammies

Christmas morning before the chaos hit!

Leo enjoying his present

Here are some highlights of our Christmas morning - It took Leo about 3 hours to open all of his presents - he moved at snail's pace! He just wanted to enjoy every one! He was a very gracious boy!

Yi-Yi woes........ Some background information you will need to know:

Leo is very attached to his pacifier, "Yi-Yi" He is only allowed to have it in the car and in bed, but lately he has been sneaking around and going to get it when we aren't looking. Grandma and Leo bought Baby Wil some Yi-Yi's for Christmas too. Well, December 29th was a sad day for yi-yi, in the morning, I discovered a tear in his "bed yi-yi" so we cut it off. "Yi-Yi is broken!" All throughout the day, we were asked by our clever two year old several solutions to the problem

-Mommy, fix it with glue?

-Daddy, fix it with a hammer!

-Leo will fix it with a wrench! After trying his toy wrench, he decided that wasn't enough and requested that daddy retrieve a "big, huge wrench" from the garage. He wasn't surprised when that didn't work either.

Finally, here is a transcript from the best "Yi-Yi" conversation Leo and I have had so far.

Leo: Mommy, buy new yi-yi?

Me: Sorry Leo, they don't sell yi-yi's to mommies, daddies, or big boys...only babies!

Leo: hmmmm.....Leo buy baby Wil Yi-yi's Christmas!

Me: Those are for baby Wil! (I hope I hope I hope that baby Wil doesn't want a yi-yi!)

Leo: Baby Wil no come out, Leo's Yi-yis!

Me: No!

So far, we've had two nights without yi-yi. Leo did it, but not until 10:30 pm one night and 11:30 the next night! Oh, wish us luck!
