Wil Shan-Yi Shaffer arrived on 3-10-09 at 3:38 AM. He was 8 lbs. 4 oz and 19 inches long. He was born via C-section. My water broke on 3-9 at 10:15 am at the dr.'s office, so we were in the hospital about 1:30. They started pitocin (sp?) about the same time. Nothing was progressing all evening. Then about 1:30 am, Wil's little heart beat dropped, which was very scary. The Dr's stopped contractions and started me on pitocin again about 3 am. Right away, his little heart beat dropped again, so off to the OR we went. Once Daddy got scrubbed in, the surgery started. I don't remember much of anything because I was so nervous, I got some extra drugs. I do remember Alex's voice asking me to look at Wil, and all I saw was a little hat (the cutest hat I've ever seen!)
We are happy to report that everyone is healthy and doing well! Leo has been amazing through all of this! He is so sweet and nice to his little brother! Wait until you see the videos - oh my goodness! (one won't load, I'll have to shorten it and post later)
We need a blog-over, but I just haven't had time (any volunteers???) But we are so excited to introduce our latest addition, Wil! By the way, next March 10th is a NO NEW KIDS black-out day for the Shaffers! Please don't even ask if another is on the way :-)

Congrats Shaffer family! Wil is precious and Leo is sooo cute with him! I am crying with happiness in my heart for you guys! And 1 year to the date you brought Leo home, how spectacular is that?! Yes, I support you on "NO NEW KIDS" day next year on the 10th:)
