Results of a hot July

I love Leo's self correction in this one!

Leo has been such a good kiddo lately...so glad his defiant stage has diminished, although I'm sure it will make appearances every now and then. He loves reading right now.......he finds his sight words everywhere on shirts, on cereal boxes, books - even "hiding" in bigger words, a strategy I have tried to teach many a 6 year old! Even if it's not "real" reading yet, we sure are proud of his excitement to learn!!! Right now, Leo asks to watch "The Three Little Pigs Factory" which is really called Storybook Factory about 1,000,000 times a day. His favorite part is the "Punc, Punc, Punctuation" song - he cracks us up singing "a period means full-stop and an exclamation to make your point - we're gonna rock this joint!" And yes, Leo is pretty much always in just underwear, sigh. He's taken the summer reading program at the library extremely seriously - he insists on putting a sticker on his "map" each time we read a book and has really enjoyed earning his prizes.

Our "little" boy is 4 1/2 months old. He loves having tummy time on his wonderful animal quilt. He spends minutes (hours in baby attention span time) staring at all the cute little animals! Thanks Mrs. Gieseke! He is 16 lbs, 14 oz and 26 inches long

OMG, Leo is doing amazing with his sight words! Love the "Stomp On" game and will totally use it with the girls! Great idea! I have been focusing on phonics and forgetting about sight words, duh:) Wil is too cute eating and with Leo commenting in the background, Hilarious!
