PS - Lilly tries to run out the door every time we go outside now to follow her "Magic food dropping machine" (Keep in mind she is as blind as a bat!) That's why she's not in the super-cool pictures, she was not successful in her 14 year old dog mad dash this time - maybe next time!
Snapping prodigy! We had to pull over to snap this pic
Watchin' the game with my grapes!
Spaghetti face Leprechaun!
So other than the 2 am dr. visit the other night - where the dr. literally looked at Leo for 2 minutes and said, "Oh, viral infection, give him this cough medicine" I had my first true parent panic moment today........Live and Learn is the motto of the day!
So, Leo was whinny about getting into the car, he wanted my keys. I have handed them over many times...so I gave them to him. As I was closing the door, I heard "Beep" Locked!!! Every door! Oh my goodness! So I ran to check the doors, then got my cell phone to call Alex. As I am dialing, Leo decides to push the PANIC button (well, yeah, Mom's panicking, makes sense!) So now, the lights are flashing, the horn is beeping and mom is really panicking! I'm yelling to Alex through the phone, and my easy-going neighbor strolls over to kindly tell me "I dunno what to do either!" I'm asking Alex how to break a window, while begging Leo to "Push the button" through the window....It was so fun --Ha Ha! Leo kept staring at me, so calm, with his little hand up on the window - he seemed to be saying, "Come here mom!" So somehow, God finished goofing around with me - the panic button stopped, and my little angel hit the unlock button - twice in fact - to get all the doors unlocked and I dashed in to get him! Whew! Funny now, not so funny then.......
Duh - don't give the baby the keys! Lesson learned - ok! Just thank goodness it wasn't the middle of a 120 degree day! Needless to say, we are collecting old, unused keys for future use!
So here are some pictures of our little "cool dude" who is recovering from his "oh, viral infection" pretty well! He loves to put on glasses, as you might tell. And we were simply amazed today in the car when he started snapping -really making noises - with BOTH hands - wow! We were impressed!
So Daddy is trying really, really hard to make sure Leo likes sports. He LOVES basketball! In his stroller, he actually sat for 45 minutes with his grapes as a snack watching the Pistons wallop on the Suns the other night - and Daddy wasn't even home yet!
Leo also went to visit my school today - he was a little ham, as usual. The kids were SOOOO sweet to him. They kept exclaiming - "Look Miss Shaffer, he can walk!" Or "Look, he's waving" and "He's so cute!" It was really heart-warming! We brought fruit roll ups for everyone and he happily passed them out to each kid. He would give one, run back to me, then pass it on to someone else. Oh, how I miss those kids! He was very taken with "Mr. Murphy" which all kids are, he gave him high fives and blew him kisses! He also just LOVES his Aunt Malia! If I wasn't around, she was the first one he went to! Awww!
We finished off the day by going to see Grandma at work to get milkshakes. He was in the middle of giving a stranger a high-five when he spotted Grandma across the room and started clapping and yelling "Yeah!" Then when we finally got to see her, he said "Hi g-ma!" Very cute - loves his sticker-giving Grandma (and we think she likes him too!)
Enjoy the pictures!
Congrats to Jane - she's off to get little Willa! YEAH!
Finally, Deb has a first ruling - Hurray! Won't be home till "baby brother" is home!

Thanks for the shout out!
Don't you love those late night medical freak outs? We've had a lot and they always result in the decision to give Jia tylenol and that's it.
Your story about the keys made me laugh (sorry). Jia hasn't locked me out yet, but she has started my car and had it running for an hour or so a few times (using my remote starter - a treat for us with winter climes).
We went to the pediatrician 3 times the first week we were home...I'm sure she thought I was a crayz person, but if she did, she never said it...
I cracked up reading about the keys... I've handed Drew my keys plenty of times (to entertain him, and to free up my hands to strap him him)... I'll learn from your example.
He is adorable... those kids are right!
