Leo wanted to eat the snow. We taught him the appropriate "yellow snow" warning. Thankfully, Leo made nor ate any yellow snow!
This is my favorite picture of Wil - warm in his snowsuit in Flagstaff (Hey, you have to protect your Phoenician kiddos!)It reminded me of the little brother in "A Christmas Story" Arms stuck out at his sides, unable to move. Poor baby, everytime he attempted to crawl around, he face-planted in the snow and cried :-( Maybe next year you'll like it, buddy!
Recent Leo Quotes:
He awoke from his nap in the car on our way to Flagstaff. Leo has never seen real snow, so we expected him to wake up, look out the window and be impressed at the 6+ inches of the white stuff on the ground. Instead we got.....
"Wow, look at all the conifer trees!" Well, we were in the pines!
On the same car ride, he stated: "The roads are slippery and it is unsafe. Why don't we put skiis on our tires?"
After a verse reading at church Christmas Eve that ended something like this "so carols they sang. (then silence) Leo added (at a very high volume) "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way!) Everyone turned to us and laughed. Oh, our Leo! This is only one week after running up in the middle of baby dedications to see if it was his turn - along with the preschool's presentation of "Away in a Manger" As they sang "Asleep in the hay" Leo decided to lay down and "go to sleep" He was quite a specktacle!
Also, that same evening, people laughed as they watched the Organ girls, sitting nicely on their parents laps in beautiful Christmas dresses and bows in their hair, sang Christmas carols and smiled....then turning to look at the Shaffer family. Picture it, Wil screaming his new favorite "Na Na Na" at the top of his lungs while jumping on our laps so hard we nearly drop him with chunks of sweet potato remaining in several places in his hair. Leo sprawled out on the floor with his "goody" bag of stuff spread out before him, singing Jingle Bells at unopportune times. Mom, with her hair askew and Dad struggling to hold Wil, both with stickers stuck all over their Christmas attire. What a perfect description of the difference between boys and girls... Lucky us!
SNOWBALL!
